Rogue Trader: Glitchlings

Once again, we've got the Nurgle Warning here. The camera has toned these down a bit from how gross they are in person, but they're still pretty gross.

Unlike the previous sets of little gribblies, I did these more like I do my Nurgle Daemons, which takes a while because it involves a bunch of different colours and multiple washes and technical paint. As I mentioned, the camera toned it down a bit, because it tends to treat the inks I use as more translucent than they are in person, and the glistening slimy bits don't work the same in a photo. Anyhow they're right under the cut if you want to give them a look:

Quick shot of the whole bunch, then on to the first one. Or maybe two. Depends on how you look at it. I went for a different final glaze for the two of them, because I wanted them to look not like a single being that's splitting, but two that have each had about 30% trimmed off of one side or the other and then been crudely stitched (or possibly stapled) together. Also because it looks like we've got a classic Odd Couple thing here, with the cheerful dumb one on house right, and the smarter, angrier, and more bitter one who's really displeased at being stuck with this idiot, on house left.

Then this little guy, who's clearly got some pirate fantasies going on. Thinking on it now, maybe I should have doubled down on that and made a little pirate hat for it, too. You don't want to know what that sword is drenched in, but trust me, you don't want to get hit by it any more than you would a proper steel sword.

Then we've got the bar-fighter. I actually did take things another little step here, drilling out the bottle so it's actually hollow. I think my attempt at a glass effect would have worked better if the one carrying it had a more contrasting finish, instead of being just as glossy.

And, last but not least, this little cutie, who seems to have salvaged some snacks from that poor dude's torso before using his head as a stool. Well, hopefully he's just using it as a stool. Probably best not to think about the other options.

I've got a couple more bits of Shadespire Terrain for Azazel's January Challenge, and hopefully I'll get these Ryza Pattern Ruins done tomorrow for that, too. Finished off the last of the Nurgle half of the Rogue Trader box this afternoon, and the rest of them are waiting to be photographed. So hopefully I'll be posting again soon, and until then, y'all have a good one, y'hear!

    1. Thanks! Yep, Nurgle stuff in general is often kind of hard to figure out how to react to, and Nurglings more than any.

  2. Suitably disgusting. The pirate hat idea is a good one and I'm sure the 'cute' one is just.. erm.. scratching an unfortunate itch.
