Azazel's Neglected Model September Wrap-up Post

Basically just a proof of completion with just a few minutes left in September. I'm going to go back and do better individual shots of all these in the next couple of days,  but I wanted to get something up to mark the end of the month.
As is usually the case, all of these could use a little more touch-up, or a couple more details picked out, or another layer of highlights somewhere, but they've hit my personal point of "Fuck it, they're good enough." I feel I should note that all of these were at least started, and some of them (particularly the Skaven) were quite far along, and just needed some final touches. Even so, 16 Models completed in a month (and not just slammed out to three colour minimum, even if it was a pretty decent 3-colour minimum for all those Daemonettes in August) is very good for how my productivity has been trending these last few years. My original plan was to stagger the finishes throughout the month and give them each their own post, but instead, I ended up bouncing around between the various groups, and getting them all done right at the end of the month.

Coming up next, I've got a couple of possibilities for DreadTober, and most of what's left of the Silver Tower box will qualify for the Unit-ed October Challenge, as well as (hopefully) a significant chunk of the Rogue Trader box. It's not likely, but it's also not impossible that I might manage to squeeze in a little something for Orktober as well. I'll hopefully have some preview posts up for those soon as well. Until then, y'all have a good one, y'hear!

  1. My personal point of "Fuck it, they're good enough." -> Sounds very familiar :) Good job getting the bastards painted :)

    1. Thanks! And yeah, at some point, unless they're for a painting competition or something, you just have to acknowledge that it would be better to leave them as-is, and start putting that effort towards something else.

  2. Hell, I'd be thrilled to get 16 minis painted in a month, regardless of whether or not some had previously been started at an earlier date!

    Color me jealous!

    1. Given that this is only the third month so far this year that I've completed any Minis during, it feels like quite an accomplishment.

Honestly, these Hobby Challenges have been great motivation. Almost none of this would have been finished if not for that.

    1. Thanks! I have to say, it's a bit easier for me in some ways, since I live alone. Don't have kids or anything that need my time and attention.

  4. "the best colour is DONE!" Its a good feeling, isn't it? Your photo is horrible however. I want to see whats in the purple tank. (and the Spiteclaw, oh yes)

    1. Yes, it is. And yes, the photo is fucking terrible. I just wanted to get *something* to document them as done, so I didn't even bother taking another shot to try to get the side of the lightbox out of the frame. Better pics, with a better camera, will come later, but this was done in a hurry, right before I went to bed.

  5. All good, Westrider - don't need to rush any "proof" photos up for (my) challenges. There's nothing on the line in terms of prizes, etc, and since I'm very much the kind of guy who'll be finishing models as the clock counts down to midnight on the last day (and Varnishing doesn't count as "painting", so it can be after the month). I'll try to get my own post up today or tomorrow, then give people a few more days and hopefully do the Community Round-Up on (my) Sunday, so your Sat night - so you've got a few days to get the good photos up!

    1. I know you don't need me to do it, but I felt like I needed to, for myself at least. Or maybe something else. Look, it was almost midnight, I'd been short on sleep for several days, I have no clear picture of what my thought process was at the time, but one way or another, it did make sense to me then ;)
